PPPC Congregational Meeting - THIS Sunday, June 7th

The Annual Meeting of the Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church congregation will be held this Sunday, June 7th immediately following the 2:30pm worship service in the Garden Room at Brentwood Pres. During the meeting we will hear reports from the Finance Committee and the Nominating Committee.  We will elect a new Nominating Committee for 2026-2027, as well as new officers (Deacons and Elders) whose terms begin July 1. We will also hear updates related to our church's recovery (this will be in lieu of the monthly online Congregational Forum for June)

All PPPC members and friends are encouraged to attend (only members can vote, however).

Pali Pres Elder Nominations for Election on June 7th

The Nominating Committee, after much work and prayer, is nominating the following individuals to be elected as church officers and members of the 2026/2027 Nominating Committee:

Elder:

Sharon Browning (3-year term; Class of 2029), Carol Pfannkuche (3-year term; Class of 2029), Lynn Mack-Costello (1-year term; Class of 2027), Margi St. Clair (1-year term; Class of 2027).

Deacon:

Peter Rasmussen (3-year term; Class of 2029), JoAnna Rodriguez (3-year term; Class of 2029), Shelley Wagner (3-year term; Class of 2029), Joan Kaczorowski (1-year term; Class of 2027).

Nominating Committee (all 1- year terms):

Tove Hoch, Lore Meline, Brian Nick, Dean St. Clair.

(David Wood, Lynette Shishido, and Pastor Matt will continue as Session representatives)

The election will be held at our Congregational Meeting on June 7, immediately after worship. All members and friends of Pali Pres are encouraged to attend (though only members may vote).

We extend a heartfelt "Thank You!" to those who will be completing their service to the church effective June 30th:

Geoff Moyer Memorial

A service will be held in celebration of the life of Geoff Moyer on Saturday, June 20th at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 11am.

‘Palisades Collective’ Diorama Exhibit: GROUP VISIT

Palisades teenager Luca Dal Bello used fire-relief money to create a miniature memorial of our lost neighborhood. From May 30th through June 21st, 12pm to 6pm, this project will be presented at EMECO House in Venice. During this three-week installation, visitors will experience handcrafted miniature dioramas of lost homes, schools, landmarks, and local businesses alongside a growing digital archive of community-submitted memories, photographs, and stories.

The exhibition is designed as both a memorial and a gathering space — a place to reflect on what was lost, honor what remains, and imagine what can be rebuilt. Through art, storytelling, and shared presence, the project transforms individual memory into collective resilience.

Our church is represented in diorama form at this touching exhibition. Pali Pres friends & members are invited to view the exhibit as a group on Friday, June 12th at 12pm. The exhibit is located at 507 Boccaccio Ave, Venice. Give yourself time to find street parking, as the location is adjacent to Abbot Kinney Blvd and it might be very busy.

Calling All VBS Volunteers!

Vacation Bible School is almost here, and we would love your help! Volunteer training will take place on June 14th, and VBS runs June 15th-18th from 9:00 AM to Noon.

VBS is always a joyful and meaningful week in the life of our church, filled with faith, friendship, learning, and fun for children and volunteers alike. We are still looking for volunteers to help with snacks, games, story time, crafts, and more. Whether you can serve one day or the entire week, there is a place for you.

If you are willing to help in any capacity, please reach out with your availability. Your time and presence will make a meaningful difference for the children and families who participate.

Good News Corner

What a wonderful morning we shared at last Sunday’s joint Communion Passage Workshop for our elementary school children and their parents!

Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church and Brentwood Presbyterian Church partnered to teach, encourage, and inspire families as they explored the meaning and gift of the Sacrament of Communion. It was a joy to learn together and prepare our children for this important step in their faith journey.

Thank you to all the families who participated and helped make the morning so special. We are also deeply grateful to our dedicated staff and leaders who made this event possible: Pastor Matt, Pastor Grace, Pastor Dave, Ellie Laita, Vineta Rendler, and Lucy Garcia.

Deacons of the Month

For the month of June, our Deacons of the Month are Lynn Anderson and Amy Berggreen.

Our Deacon Board will be rotating duties each month, and if any need arises during a particular month, the Deacons of the Month will be attending to the needs of our church family.

Summer Worship Schedule

Beginning on June 28th, PPPC worship will take place at 10am as part of a joint service with our friends at Brentwood Pres.

Summer services will look very similar to the joint services we have taken part in over the past several months, with both Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace participating and preaching regularly.  While our choir will be on hiatus for the summer, we will continue to be blessed by the musical gifts of Pierre and our soloists, Anthony and the band, and Austin on the organ/piano.  We give thanks to God for the opportunity to worship together as a church family on Sunday mornings!  

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
