Clear Lot, Full Hearts

Persistent bell ringing, phone calls, hand shakes, emails, letters, official meetings, and lots of praying has finally paid off! This week, the US Army Corps of Engineers began clearing both our church foundation and the debris dumped on our parking lot after the fire.

We are very thankful for the private nonprofit CORE, the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, LA City, and LA County for working with us and heeding our calls. Most of all, we are thankful to God for continually making a way forward for our beloved church.

Our eyes may see an empty field, but our hearts will forever see 75 years of love, memories, and dedicated ministry. Let us keep praying and looking to God to provide Pali Pres with a new and bright future!

Pali Pres/Brentwood Pres VBS Diaper Drive

We invite you to bring your diaper donations and place them in the basket located in the narthex on Sunday morning, marked with the giant baby flyer below. Your generosity will support the VBS 2025 mission component, aiding the vital efforts of the Hope On Union Food Pantry. This essential ministry feeds and meets the basic needs of individuals living in and around Skid Row. Together, let us join forces with Brentwood Presbyterian for this impactful cause. Good News Corner

As we continue to move forward from the disaster, stories of resilience and hope are essential in keeping our spirits up and minds focused on improving lives and rebuilding our community. While we weep for all of the children who were inextricably affected by the fire, we can also look to them as a symbol of hope for the future and a model for resilience.

Marquez Elementary theater troupe, along with our very own Emery Nick, were recently featured on Fox 11 News, proving that the show must go on!

Where in the World?

Sadly, much of our church family has been scattered far and wide due to the the Palisades fire. Yet, we remain a singular body of faith and fellowship under Christ. This is by no means an accident! God has worked through all of us to remain united amidst the chaos, inspiring us to take the extra steps needed to stay connected.

In this light, we invite everyone to participate in our new ‘Where in the World’ initiative! If you feel so moved, please download and print the ‘We Love You Pali Pres’ image HERE. Take a picture of yourself/your family holding the picture at your new (or temporary) residence, and email it to Operations Manager Will Saunders, along with your full name, location, and any other details you’d like to share! You and your photo will then be featured in an upcoming Pali Pres Community Update!

Chamber Music Palisades Free Concert

This coming Saturday, June 14th at 4 PM, our very own Pierre Tang will be giving a free concert alongside esteemed Los Angeles musicians at Brentwood Presbyterian Church in the Chamber Music Palisades Series. Learn more HERE.

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We have been blessed the last few months by so many churches, friends, and organizations who have donated food and funds for our coffee fellowship hour after church.

We are looking for volunteers from within our own Pali Pres community. On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynnette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!

We are so thankful to last Sunday’s snack angel, Grace First Presbyterian Church of Long Beach, for graciously providing coffee and refreshments. What a blessing! This week’s refreshments are provided by Karen Roswell!
