Dear Beloveds,

We are very excited to bring a very special day to our church family on the morning of Saturday, April 29th!

Pali Pres will be hosting a wonderful learning opportunity for our entire community. As a proud Fuller Seminary alumni (I graduated in 1993), I have stayed connected and current with my alma mater, and I am excited that we can work together for this unique learning event.

Please join us for a light breakfast at 9am on our beautiful patio, after which we will move into the sanctuary to explore the topic of RESILIENCY together.

Our guest lecturer will be Dr. Cynthia Eriksson, Program Chair and Professor of Psychology in the Clinical Psychology Department, another Fuller Seminary alumni. Dr. Eriksson will be walking with us through important points of what makes us resilient, how we stay resilient in the face of challenges, and how this is interwoven with who we are as seekers and believers.

I do hope that you will be able to join us. Coming soon will be more information and a link where you can RSVP. Please do RSVP if you plan on joining; this will help us to plan for the food.

I hope that you will be able to bring some friends and neighbors with you to learn together. This is an important topic from which everyone can learn and discover to lead better and more fulfilled lives.

I look forward to seeing you there that we might feed our tummies, our minds and our souls together!

Easter Sunday 2023

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Easter celebration such a special one for our entire church family! Whether you helped fill Easter eggs, set up flowers, sang in the choir or band, served refreshments, or helped with the children’s activities, each and every one of you made such a big difference on that special day! On behalf of our entire church, thank you. We hope that the joy and hope of Easter will be with you always.

Change for Change News

Thank you so much to everyone who helped in our Change for Change campaign this year! Through your generosity, we raised over $700 to help the fight against homelessness in our community.

Holy Week Joint Services

We celebrated a wonderful Holy Week together with Brentwood Presbyterian church this year! Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace were honored to be able to serve together with the Brentwood Presbyterian pastors, Dave Carpenter and Lora East.

Vacation Bible School Returns to Pali Pres

Please share the good news and register your children at the VBS Tent on Easter Sunday to receive your “early bird registration.”

This year’s theme is “Hero Hotline”, as we will explore Romans 14: 19 - “so let’s strive for the things that bring peace and the things that build each other up” - and how we can all be heroes for God in our daily lives.

Dates: August 7 - 11, 2023

Time: 9am - 12pm (aftercare available)

Grades: Ages 3+ (potty-trained) through 5th grade

Location: Pali Pres Campus

If you or your teen-aged child or grandchild would like to be a volunteer, we have several opportunities on the following teams (All require a lead and an assistant):

Registration, greeters, general session/songs, snack coordination, arts & crafts instruction, Bible stories, games, VBS store, running errands, providing tech and A/V assistance.

Preschool News

Easter was in the air at Pali Pres Preschool! The children had so much fun hunting for eggs in the little yard. Each class had their own time there and each child found three eggs. Parents hosted the classroom parties and a good time was had by all.

Spring Carnival - Parking Lot Closed

On Friday, April 14th the parking lot will be closed from 11:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Sunday Refreshments

Bringing refreshments on Sunday mornings to share with our church is a loving and very important ministry. Thank you to all of you who have been doing this so faithfully. We need folks to sign up for spring. Please contact Refreshment Coordinator Jan Gong.

Sunday Sanctuary Flowers

A BIG thank you to Beverly Keese for donating flowers last week!

This week's flowers are brought to us by the Singhs, in memory of Peter Werner.

We invite all of our church members and friends to provide donations for flowers to adorn our sanctuary, along with a special dedication of your choosing. The cost is $75 per week.

Please contact Will at will@palipres.org and the church will order flowers from a local florist to be placed in the chancel on Sunday morning. The flowers will then be taken to one of our members/friends after the service.

Thank you for helping make our sanctuary even more beautiful!
