PPPC Congregational Meeting--Sunday, Sept. 21st

The Annual Meeting of the Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church congregation will be held September 21st immediately following the 2:30pm worship service in the Garden Room at Brentwood Pres. During the meeting we will hear a report from the Finance Committee to include the 2025-2026 church budget. The Terms of Call for Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace will also be presented and voted on. At this meeting we will also hear updates related to our church's recovery from the January wildfire (this will be in lieu of the monthly online Congregational Forum for September)

All PPPC members and friends are encouraged to attend (only members can vote, however).

No Congregational Forum Next Week

The Pali Pres Congregational Forum will not take place next week. Instead, fire recovery updates will be covered during our Congregational Meeting on September 21st.

The next Congregational Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22nd at 6:30pm.

A Visit from Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church!

Members and representatives from Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church will be joining our worship service this Sunday and will also serve as our Snack Angels. Pastor Bill Stanley, his wife Carol, members of their Mission Action Team, and members of their Mountain Hands Group (their youth mission group) will sing some songs on our patio after worship. Be sure to join us in this wonderful celebration of faith and Christian love. It is amazing to see that God has been working all around us, uniting us into one big family.

Pali Pres Service Opportunity through Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity has once again invited our church to serve at their “ReStore” home improvement thrift store and donation center. This year’s volunteer day will take place on Saturday, October 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the ReStore located at 1071 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90019. Tasks may include sorting through donated items, furniture assembly, greeting customers, and helping customers carry items out to their cars.

This is a meaningful opportunity to serve our local community while supporting Habitat LA’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope. All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Please contact David Wood, Elder & Chair of Missions & Outreach, if you’re interested in rolling up your sleeves and serving the Lord at the Habitat ReStore! Space is limited.

Our beloved Jan Gong has found respite in Hawaii! Despite being on the far away island, Pali Pres is in her thoughts and prayers every day and she even provided last Sunday’s refreshments! Mahalo, Jan!

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynnette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!

We are so thankful to last Sunday’s Snack Angels, Jan Gong, for graciously providing coffee and refreshments. What a blessing! This week’s refreshments are provided by Lake Arrowhead Presbyterian Church!

Scam Email Alert

It has been brought to our attention that some church members have received strange emails that are made to look like they are from Pastor Matt. They are not. They are phishing/hacking/scam attempts.

Please know, you will never receive an unsolicited communication from any church staff member asking for personal or financial information, favors, requests to meet in a strange location, or anything else that just seems “off”. Also be aware of unusually “nonchalant” or “casual” sounding language, such as what was seen today.

If you receive something and it looks or sounds the least bit 'phishy', report it to your email service as a spam/phishing/hacking attempt.

Helpful hint: Don't simply rely upon the "name" of the sender. Take the time to expand the details of the sender and take a look at the exact email address.

A friendly reminder: Please do not share the password to the directories with anybody. If someone needs the password, please email our Operations Manager, Will Saunders.
