THIS Sunday - Pali Pres Congregational Meeting

The PPPC Session has called a Congregational Meeting for May 18th after worship. The congregation will hear reports from the Finance, Personnel, and Nominating Committees, as well as hear updates related to our recovery from the January fire. The meeting will be held in the Garden Room at Brentwood Presbyterian Church at approximately 3:30pm and will not be live-streamed.

The individuals listed below will be nominated by the Nominating Committee to serve as Elders and Deacons. Please note that many of these nominations are one or two year extensions of their current terms, which will be explained by the Nominating Committee during the Congregational Meeting.

Elders:

Class of 2026: Cynthia Block and George Browning (both extending 1 year from class of 2025); Lynn Mack-Costello

Class of 2027: Bill Hamm and Caroline Nick (both extending 1 year from class of 2026)

Class of 2028: Lynette Shishido, Bill Walker, and David Wood (all extending 1 year from class of 2027)

Deacons:

Class of 2026: Brendan Kim, Evelyn Moyer, Joan Kaczorowski and Joanna Darvish (all extending 1 year from class of 2025)

Class of 2027: Marie-Anne Helgeson, Staci Mitchell, and Lore Meline (all extending 2 years from class of 2025); Amy Berggreen and Sue Haldeman

Class of 2028: Dean & Margi St. Clair (team), Lynn Anderson and Michelle Oliver

Brentwood Presbyterian Church is located at 12000 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles, 90049. Ample parking can be found in the parking garage off of Bundy Ave (at the intersection of Bundy and San Vicente, directly behind the church) and on nearby side streets.

A Special Gift!

The members of United Church of Marco Island (FL) graciously designated Pali Pres as the recipient of their 2025 Easter Offering for our ongoing fire recovery efforts. Former Pali Pres pastor, Ed Brandt, is the current pastor of United Church and recently shared with Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace the good news—the total offering raised for our church is an incredible $25,000!

One More Graduate!

Congratulations to Makena Gichuru, who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco with a BS in Environmental Science and a minor in Biology. Makena attended Pali Pres Preschool and grew up in the church. Makena is the daughter of Correne Gichuru, one of our beloved deacons.

Wednesday Prayer Group

Please join us on Wednesday, May 21st, at 7 PM, for an all-church prayer meeting on Zoom. Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace will lead us through a time of scripture, prayer, and sharing. We hope that you can all join us for a time of healing.

Bowling Family Playdate
