Deacons of the Month

For the month of August, our Deacons of the Month are Michele Oliver and Peter Rasmussen.

Our Deacon Board will be rotating duties each month, and if any need arises during a particular month, the Deacons of the Month will be attending to the needs of our church family.

Good News Corner

A program that Pali Pres has continuously supported pre- and post-Palisades Fire is the "Brown Bag Brigade". The Pali Pres Sunday School kids and their teachers make the lunches regularly, and the Outreach Team of the Palisades Task Force on Homelessness distributes as part of their effort to persuade folks into housing and services. Contact Ms. Lucy, Pastor Grace or Nina Kidd to learn more!

The “Good News Corner" section in our weekly newsletter is a way for the congregation to inspire hope and togetherness amongst each other. Creative Arts Sunday - Sunday, August 23rd

The Sunday, August 23rd worship service will feature a 7-8 minute dramatic scripture reading, and a visual arts faire will be held outside on the front patio. A bi-annual event at BPC, it is a fun time for people to share their creative gifts with the community. Any visual art can be represented - painting, drawing, photography, sewing, knitting, sculpture, etc. All spots have been filled for the dramatic readings. Please sign up to display your art here.

Pali Pres Nametags

There are now Pali Pres nametags available for everyone to wear during our summer joint worship services with BPC! Locate yours in the nametag caddy (pictured below) in the Narthex. One side of the caddy is for BPC, the other side is for Pali Pres. We ask for your grace if we happened to miss your nametag. Please email Operations Manager, Will Saunders, and he’ll print one for you.

Build Homes in Mexico This October!

Have you ever wanted to help build a home for a family in need? Here’s your opportunity! Members and friends of Pali Pres are invited to join Brentwood Presbyterian Church (BPC) on its annual home-building trip to Mexico (passport required).

The team will depart at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 10th, from the Best Western Americana Inn in San Diego and return Monday, October 12th in the late afternoon/evening.

The cost is $510 for ages 13 and older and $300 for children 12 and under. This includes meals, transportation into Mexico from San Diego, building materials, and tent lodging.

If you’re interested in participating, please contact David Wood, Elder for Mission & Outreach, by August 30th. David will be attending the trip as well.

Come be part of this life-changing opportunity to serve alongside fellow believers and make a lasting difference for a family in need!

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels for the fall! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family. You can also contact Operations Manager, Will Saunders, and he will send you the electronic signup sheet.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
