PPPC Congregational Meeting - Sunday, Oct. 18th

The Annual Meeting of the Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church congregation will be held this Sunday, October 18th immediately following the 11:30am worship service in the fellowship hall at Brentwood Pres. During the meeting we will hear a report from the Finance Committee to include the 2026-2027 church budget. The Terms of Call for Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace will also be presented and voted on, as will the Nominating Committee's nomination of Laurie Rasmussen to serve as a co-Deacon with her husband, Peter. At this meeting we will also hear updates related to our church's recovery and rebuilding efforts (this will be in lieu of the monthly online Congregational Forum for October).

All PPPC members and friends are encouraged to attend (only members can vote, however).

Mental Health Services

Didi Hirsch Mental Health is offering a gift to our community: anyone impacted by the Palisades fires can receive up to 12 free therapy sessions - no insurance required. Counseling is available for children, teens, families, and adults. Services are designed to support emotional healing and help you build healthy coping skills as you move forward. Support groups and other specialized services are also available.

Onsite and Joint Worship: Sunday, Oct 25th

We are excited to announce that on Sunday, October 25th we will have an onsite worship service on the Pali Pres campus at 8am, followed by a joint worship service with Brentwood Presbyterian at 10am!

There will be limited parking available on the Pali Pres parking lot. We ask it be reserved for our less mobile visitors. There will be ample street parking available on El Medio and Muskingham.

Halloween Meet and Greet

Sunday Oct 25 from 11:00am-12:30pm

BPC and Pali Pres elementary children please join us on the grassy playground for a Halloween party immediately after Sunday School. There will be games, food, prizes, and special guests to meet at the Halloween Meet and Greet. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes to church (please no face coverings or fake weapons).

There will be prizes for the spookiest, cutest and most original costumes (yes, you can wear masks for this part of the day!)

An Update from the Rebuilding Task Force

A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for architectural and design firms has been posted on our website and social media pages. Likewise, we have also finalized and published a Request for Proposals (RFP) for project management services. We have also recently posted Proposer Questions and Answers on our website. Interested firms have until October 29, 2026 to submit the necessary information. Contract negotiations and approval are estimated to take place around November 16, 2026. Please keep this entire process in your prayers and stay tuned for updates.

What's Happening on the Church Parking Lot?

Great question! If you've driven by our church's Palisades location recently, you probably noticed new supplies, equipment, and work vehicles occupying our lot. That's because, as of October 1st, Pali Pres entered into an agreement with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to lease a portion of our property. The Session feels this is a "win-win" situation that helps LADWP facilitate its important work of restoring the Pacific Palisades, while also providing the church with valuable monthly income. LADWP will use our property Monday - Saturday, which means monthly Sunday worship services will not be impacted. A reasonable portion of the northern end of the parking lot will also remain available for staging of the monthly Sunday services and some parking. The agreement allows Pali Pres necessary access and use of the lot/land once we begin rebuilding (and anytime prior for preparations related to rebuilding and construction).

Additional details about this arrangement were shared at last month's Congregational Forum and will be shared again at the Congregational Meeting on October 18th.

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels for the fall and onward! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family. You can also contact Operations Manager, Will Saunders, and he will send you the electronic signup sheet.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
