Calling All Graduates!

Children and Family Ministries will honor high school seniors and college graduates from the class of 2026, as well as all children “stepping up” to the next stage, during the worship service on THIS SUNDAY, MAY 17th. We would also love to include their names in our weekly newsletter.

Please share the names of students moving from preschool to kindergarten, kindergarten to elementary, elementary to middle school, or middle school to high school, as well as any high school or college graduates so that we can celebrate these important milestones.

PPPC Congregational Meeting - Sunday, June 7th

The Annual Meeting of the Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church congregation will be held on Sunday, June 7th immediately following the 2:30pm worship service in the Garden Room at Brentwood Pres. During the meeting we will hear reports from the Finance Committee and the Nominating Committee.  We will elect a new Nominating Committee for 2026-2027, as well as new officers (Deacons and Elders) whose terms begin July 1. We will also hear updates related to our church's recovery (this will be in lieu of the monthly online Congregational Forum for June)

All PPPC members and friends are encouraged to attend (only members can vote, however).

It’s Nominating Season at Pali Pres!

The work of the Pali Pres Nominating Committee is underway as we seek to discern whom God is calling to serve our congregation as a Deacon, Elder, or member of the 2026 Nominating Committee. Your prayers and input are vital to our work. Beginning today, you will find a Nomination Form in the weekly newsletter (see the link below). Utilize this form to nominate one or more persons to any of these leadership roles or, should you feel an inner call to serve our congregation yourself, we welcome self-nominations.

Join us for the May 30th Habitat Build--Only a Few Spots Remain!

Pali Pres will be participating in an upcoming Habitat for Humanity build day on Saturday, May 30th, along with a few other churches. Volunteers may sign up for a morning shift, an afternoon shift, or both shifts if available. Each shift is limited to 20 participants, and we expect the spots to fill quickly.

No construction experience is necessary. This opportunity is open to everyone ages 16 and up. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. If you are interested in participating, please register soon to reserve your spot.

Communion Passage

We are excited to invite your child to Communion Passage, a special class for Pali Pres-Brentwood Pres elementary students in grades three through five exploring the meaning of Communion in the Presbyterian tradition.

Sunday, May 31, 9:00 a.m., Room 210. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Together, we will learn about Jesus’ invitation to the table, the meaning of Communion, and how we participate in this important part of worship as a church family.

Good News Corner

On April 11th, playing with the Perth Metro Pipe Band, Pali Pres member and bagpiper Alexander Walker won first place at the Australian Pipe Band Championships!  Australia has an excellent pipe band scene and its Championships are a tough, big-time competition with a lot of great players and bands.  This year the Championships were held in Perth, Western Australia, and included bands from all over Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.  Pictured left to right after the announcement of the winners are Alexander, Pipe Major James Cowie with the Greg Gordon Champion Pipe Band flag attached to his bass drone, and Altadena piper Justin Celek, a good friend of Alexander who also travelled to Australia to play at the Championships with Perth Metro.  If you would like to hear the band’s winning performances, click here.  Slàinte mhath!

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
