Good News Corner

The Western States Invitational Solo Highland Bagpipe Championships will be held this year at the St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates. The soloist championships will be on November 1st, and our own Alex Walker, the 2025 Western United States Grade 1 solo champion, will be performing/competing at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Also, the Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Bands will have their annual Celtic Christmas concert on December 7 at the United Church of Christ in Claremont. Tickets are available here.

Deacons of the Month

For the month of November, our Deacons of the Month are Marie Anne Helgeson, and Margi & Dean St. Clair.

Our Deacon Board will be rotating duties each month, and if any need arises during a particular month, the Deacons of the Month will be attending to the needs of our church family.

City Hall Honors Pastor Matt

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynnette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!

We are so thankful to last Sunday’s Snack Angels, Margaret & Tom Keene, for graciously providing coffee and refreshments. What a blessing! This week’s refreshments are provided by Joanna Rodriguez!

Habitat LA Accelerator Fund

The Habitat LA Accelerator Fund is available to help those who lost their home get back on their feet. Qualified applicants could receive up to $10,000 in grant assistance. Designed to remove the logistical barriers that keep families from rebuilding, the accelerator fund is not a loan and does not need to be repaid. No fees. No catch. Just relief.
