Welcoming LA County Supervisor, Lindsey Horvath, and CORE Co-Founder and CEO, Ann Lee, to Worship!

We are happy to share the news that worshiping alongside us this coming Sunday, May11th, will be Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and CORE CEO Ann Lee. Supervisor Horvath, who represents LA County’s Third District (which includes Pacific Palisades), will share some remarks with our congregation after the service concludes and then will join us for coffee fellowship. Come hear more about the recovery efforts in the Palisades and share with the Supervisor your questions and concerns.

As well, this Sunday we will recognize and thank Ann Lee for CORE’s amazing efforts in clearing the debris from our church lot these past four weeks. CORE funded the entire project and we could not be more grateful!

Brentwood Presbyterian Church is located at 12000 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles, 90049. Ample parking can be found in the parking garage off of Bundy Ave (at the intersection of Bundy and San Vicente, directly behind the church) and on nearby side streets.

Congregational Meeting - Sunday, May 18th

The PPPC Session has called a Congregational Meeting for May 18th after worship. The congregation will hear reports from the Finance, Personnel, and Nominating Committees, as well as hear updates related to our recovery from the January fire. The meeting will be held in the Garden Room at Brentwood Presbyterian Church at approximately 3:30pm and will not be live-streamed.

The individuals listed below will be nominated by the Nominating Committee to serve as Elders and Deacons. Please note that many of these nominations are one or two year extensions of their current terms, which will be explained by the Nominating Committee during the Congregational Meeting.

Class of 2026: Cynthia Block and George Browning (both extending 1 year from class of 2025); Lynn Mack-Costello

Class of 2027: Bill Hamm and Caroline Nick (both extending 1 year from class of 2026)

Graduation Sunday

Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in The Lord, Always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

It is so important to pause and celebrate the achievements in life. It is with this spirit that we rejoice with the Pali Pres Children & Youth who are graduating or “stepping up.” We are so proud of you!

Natalie Rodriguez (graduating from Pali High School and attending Clemson University in South Carolina, majoring in biology), Chloe Frazier (stepping up to high school), Max Iannaccone (stepping up to middle school), Emery Nick (stepping up to middle school), Elle Price (stepping up to middle school), Lola Verrett (stepping up to middle school), and Leigha Verrett (stepping up to middle school).

Good News Corner

The Children and Family Ministries received a remarkable and generous gift from the Youth Group at First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, MD (pictured below). They raised $1,200 and unanimously chose to donate it all to our Youth Ministry to aid in our recovery efforts. Ms. Lucy had the wonderful opportunity to recently connect with them through a Zoom call, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their love and support. Witnessing this overwhelming outpouring of generosity from our brothers and sisters worldwide, especially the youth, is truly inspiring!

Bowling Family Playdate

Join us on May 17th, for a fun-filled Bowling Family Playdate from 12pm to 2pm! We will be at a new location in Mar Vista: Lucky Strike Mar Vista, 12125 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90066.
