Pali Pres New Member Class - Sunday, March 1st

Are you curious about the history and ministries of Pali Pres? Are you interested in learning more about our Presbyterian tradition and beliefs? If so, please join us for our New Member Class on Sunday, March 1. The class will be led by Pastor Matt and Pastor Grace and will start at 12:30. A light lunch will be provided. Pali Pres Acolytes

Last Sunday, during our joint worship service, our young Acolytes beautifully opened and concluded the service by bringing in and carrying out the light and the Word of God. Their participation was a wonderful addition to our Children, Family, and Youth ministry and provided a truly meaningful start to our season of Lent.

Due to the LA Marathon route we cannot worship at our normal 2:30pm time on Sunday, March 8th. We’ll be joining our friends at BPC for more of an informal service followed by tacos.

Serve Dinner, Share Fellowship, Support “Winter Refuge” at First Presbyterian of Hollywood

“Winter Refuge” is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood that provides meals, hospitality, and community to people experiencing poverty or housing insecurity during the winter season.

Pali Pres will be participating in this important ministry at First Presbyterian of Hollywood on Friday, February 27th. Arrival time is 5:30pm and dinner will be served at 6pm.

A hot dinner will be prepared and served to 30 people. We have been asked to bring drinks and desserts (expenses will be reimbursed by our Missions & Outreach Committee). After dinner, we will sit and share fellowship with guests, as everyone enjoys the live music of the “Singray Quartet”.

Build Homes, Build Hope with Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing ministry that partners with volunteers and future homeowners to build safe, affordable housing for families in need.

Pali Pres will be participating in an upcoming Habitat for Humanity Build Day on Saturday, March 21st, along with a few other churches. Volunteers may sign up for a morning shift, an afternoon shift, or both shifts if available. Each shift is limited to 20 participants, and we expect the spots to fill quickly.

No construction experience is necessary. This opportunity is open to everyone ages 16 and up. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. If you are interested in participating, please register soon to reserve your spot.

Women of Working Age (“WOW”) Group Gathering

.If you are a woman of working age, we invite you to join us for “WOW” - Women of Working age - a fellowship group based on coming together as women of faith for a time of sharing and learning. Please see Pastor Grace or Mary Fish for more information. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 3rd, 7pm, at Joanna Darvish’s home. (Address will be shared with RSVP). Please bring a small dish to share!

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
