One-Year Anniversary of the January Wildfire

The Palisades Fire left a lasting impact on us as individuals, a church, and a community. Over the course of this past year we have all experienced a range of emotions as we navigated the many challenges related to recovery and rebuilding.

As you are comfortable, we invite you to join us as Pali Pres commemorates the one-year anniversary of the Palisades Fire with special opportunities for worship and reflection. We will come before God with prayer, hope, and hearts of faith as we also collectively remember, grieve, and name the pain and frustration that many of us still feel.

May the Lord grant us, and all who were impacted by the January fires, solace and strength as we mark this anniversary and continue our journey of healing and restoration.

Evening Prayer Service -- Tuesday, January 6th at 7pm, BPC sanctuary (in-person and livestreamed). The livestream link will be sent out the morning of January 6th.

Morning Prayer Gathering -- Wednesday, January 7th at 8am, onsite at PPPC campus.

Special Fellowship Hour -- Sunday, January 11th after worship, BPC Garden Room.

Working Women’s Group (WOW)

If you are a woman of working age, we invite you to join us for “WOW”— Women of Working age— a fellowship group based on coming together as women of faith for a time of sharing and learning. Please see Pastor Grace or Mary Fish for more information. Our next meeting will be January 12th at 7pm, at Joanna Darvish’s home. (Address will be shared with RSVP). Please bring a small dish to share.

Our senior ladies’ tea fellowship will begin in the new year, led by Margaret Keene, so please keep your eyes open for more information coming soon!

Want to help distribute items for Operation Kindness on Wed, Jan 14?

Our Operation Kindness Food Pantry Drive (held over three Sundays: Nov 22, 29, and Dec 7) was a beautiful expression of compassion in action. Thank you to every individual and family who contributed donations to support our neighbors facing food insecurity. Your generosity is already making a meaningful difference.

We will be delivering the donated goods to Immanuel Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, January 14 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, followed by distribution support and a shared lunch with their food pantry volunteers. We’re seeking a few more volunteers to join the distribution team and fellowship with Immanuel’s volunteers afterward. If you’d like to help, please email David Wood.

Claude and Judy Harvey recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary! We wish them a heartfelt congratulations on this testament to love!

Deacons of the Month

For the month of January, our Deacons of the Month are Joan Kaczorowski and Lore Meline.

Our Deacon Board will be rotating duties each month, and if any need arises during a particular month, the Deacons of the Month will be attending to the needs of our church family.

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynnette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
