Worship Reminder

We are so thankful to the good folks at Culver City Pres for generously opening their church to us!

We will continue to worship at Culver City Presbyterian Church this Sunday, February 9th, at 2:30pm. Please enter through the main doors of the sanctuary on Washington Blvd.

Parking is available in a small lot behind the church or on nearby side streets (free on Sundays).

Children & Family Ministries and Youth Events

Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to check in and give you some dates for cool things I am planning for our Children and Family Ministries and also our Youth Ministry.

1) Friday & Saturday, February 7th & 8th, 6 - 8:30 PM: Mother/Son & Father/Daughter Dances. Bel Air Presbyterian has invited the entire Pacific Palisades community but specifically our children and their parents to attend these two very special events. Please let me know if you would like to go or register as they need a head count for dinner. There will also be a magician, games, a photo booth, and a DJ. Here are the links to RSVP:

2) Sunday, February 9th: Sunday School at our new worship location at Culver City Presbyterian. Please let me know if you will NOT be there this Sunday.

3) Friday, February 14th, 5 - 8 PM: Parent’s Night Out & Kids Valentine’s Day Party. In collaboration with Brentwood Presbyterian Church, we will be hosting a very special evening where parents can enjoy the evening out and kids can have a good time together. Please RSVP to Ms. Lucy ASAP.

4) Saturday, February 22nd, 12 Noon: Bowlero Lunch Date for Pali Pres Families. Our last event was so lovely that we decided to do a repeat! Stay tuned for more info but please mark your calendar! Please RSVP to Ms. Lucy.

5) Sunday, February 23rd, 12 Noon: Brunch and Bible Study for Middle and High School Youth. Location TBD. Stay tuned for details. Please RSVP to Ms. Lucy.

6) Friday, February 28th, 7 PM to 7 AM: Youth Lock-In at Brentwood Presbyterian. Join Middle and High School Youth from eight West Side congregations for a spectacular event filled with food, fun, and friendship! Please SAVE THE DATE and RSVP to Ms. Lucy.

Parent Support Group for PPPC Wildfire Victims

Thursday, Feb 13 at 7pm on Zoom

All Pali Pres church and Preschool parents are invited to attend on online gathering focused on navigating the challenges of loss and disorientation as they guide their children in the aftermath of the fires. This gathering will be a time to receive emotional, spiritual, and trauma informed care and support. Please join us on Zoom at 7pm on Thursday, February 13. The Zoom information is below.

Our gathering will be facilitated by Lisa Craig, LMFT. Lisa Craig is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in West LA. Lisa received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary’s School of Psychology in 1995 and is passionate about providing Christian informed therapy for individuals, couples and families. Lisa is married to Steve Craig, Pastor of St. Johns Presbyterian Church and is mother of two young adult daughters. You can learn more about Lisa here.

From the Church Time Capsule

This past week we were able to retrieve the time capsule that was buried on our church campus. Sadly, most of the contents were destroyed by the fire. However, the one item that survived was a tile which was made of the original Pali Pres A-frame chapel. It's a little rough around the edges, but it is a true treasure and a symbol of perseverance and faith.

A Special Thank You to the Church of Scientology

The amount of charity and goodwill shown towards Pali Pres continues to grow everyday and leaves us astounded. We owe a special thank you to the Church of Scientology for clearing our parking lot of about 3,000 pounds of illegally dumped brush, branches and tree trunks.
