Summer Worship Schedule

For the remainder of the summer, worship will take place at 10am as part of a joint service with our friends at Brentwood Pres.

We give thanks to God for the opportunity to worship together as a church family on Sunday mornings!  

A Prayer for the 250th Anniversary of the Birth of the United States of America

Gracious God, in the midst of our celebrations surrounding the 250th anniversary of our country’s independence, we pause to thank you for this great and beautiful land we call home. We also give thanks for those who made such great sacrifices for the sake of equality and liberty, life and the pursuit of happiness.

Lord, we ask you to protect and guide our country. May we truly be the United States of America--united with you and with one another in our common values and aspirations. Strengthened by the Holy Spirit, help us to have a stronger faith, to be filled with hope, and to live with compassion towards all of our brothers and sisters.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Deacons of the Month

For the month of July, our Deacons of the Month are Joan Kaczorowski and Lore Meline.

Our Deacon Board will be rotating duties each month, and if any need arises during a particular month, the Deacons of the Month will be attending to the needs of our church family.

Pali Pres Nametags

There are now Pali Pres nametags available for everyone to wear during our summer joint worship services with BPC! Locate yours in the nametag caddy (pictured below) in the Narthex. One side of the caddy is for BPC, the other side is for Pali Pres. We ask for your grace if we happened to miss your nametag. Please email Operations Manager, Will Saunders, and he’ll print one for you.

Our Visit to Homeboy Industries

Last Friday, twenty members from Brentwood Presbyterian Church and Palisades Presbyterian Church visited Homeboy Industries for an inspiring tour of its Los Angeles headquarters. I had the privilege of representing our church, and while a few others had hoped to attend but were unable to at the last minute, it was a meaningful opportunity to learn more about an organization that is transforming lives in our community.

Homeboy Industries is the world's largest gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program, providing job training, education, counseling, mental health services, tattoo removal, and a supportive community for individuals seeking a fresh start after involvement with gangs or incarceration. Through our Missions & Outreach Committee, our church is honored to support Homeboy Industries each year as one of our core ministry partners. Seeing their work firsthand was a powerful reminder that lives can be changed through compassion, opportunity, and God's grace.

Good News Corner

What a joy it was this past Sunday to dedicate our new Prayer Wall! A special word of thanks to Brandyn Schrobilgen, his dad Marc, and our own Michelle Oliver (Brandyn's aunt) for helping make this gift to our church a reality!

You Can Be a Snack Angel!

We are looking for volunteers to serve as Sunday Snack Angels! On the snack table each Sunday is a sign up sheet for you to select a date to provide snacks for our church family.

If you are unable to physically pick up and deliver the snacks yourself, please make a note next to your name and you can donate $100 to cover the cost of all the food for one Sunday. This donation can also be made online HERE. Please contact Elder Lynette Shishido, our snack captain, or Pastor Grace for more information and to sign up!
